Richard T. Lostritto, Sr., 95, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Margaret DeRosa Lostritto for 70 years. Born in Hamden on September 6, 1926 he was the son of the late Antimo and Lucy Manacchio Streeto (Lostritto). He served his country faithfully in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater, was awarded a medal as a sharpshooter and was a guard for the Hirohito Palace in Japan. Richard was a career firefighter for the Town of Hamden for many years until his retirement. He was very musically inclined and could pick up any instrument and play it. Richard was a gifted mechanic, enjoyed making good wine and was a Ham Radio operator. Father of Dr. Richard (Jannet Okazaki) Lostritto ,Jr. and Rev. Paul Lostritto, OFM. Loving grandfather of Carl, Anna, and Peter Lostritto. Brother of Julius Streeto, Katherine Koutsopolos, Antoinette Heg, George “Jack” Streeto, Eleanor Donahue, Janette Volono and the late Edward “Lil” Streeto. Also survived by his former daughter-in-law Cindi V. Lostritto, many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday May 31st from 5 to 8 PM in The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven on Wednesday morning, June 1st at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Our VCH, Veterans Coffee House meets monthly at the Wlfd Senior Center which not only gives our Vets the chance to socialize but also take part in enjoying a guest speaker which are related to military topics, slide presentations and Q&A.
At this very difficult time, our group would like to honor the loss of Richard Lostritto as a fallen brother.
