Rita E. Velardi Barclay, 76, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late William Barclay. Rita was born on October 7, 1941 in New Haven and was the daughter of the late Fred and Rita D’Errico Velardi, Sr. Rita enjoyed trips to the casino, dancing and loved her sweets. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mother of William (Heather) Barclay and Carolann (Bruce) Randall. Grandmother of Jennifer, Jessica and Julia Randall, Dylan and Shawn Barclay. Sister of Fred (Diana) Velardi, Jr. and the late Margaret “Marge” Velardi. Aunt of Sara Velardi Rockafella.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Monday at 12:00 pm. Family and friends may call from 11:00 until time of service. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Ctr. #3 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
My dearest condolences for the Barclays. Mrs. Barclays was a loving mother to my dear friend Carolann. What a loving, beautiful woman.
