Robert (Rob) Benjamin Klimczak, 64, of Hamden, CT, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 25

Rob attended the University of Utah, where he enjoyed skiing and studying art. He was a talented builder, specializing in historical renovation, and was recognized by the New Haven Historical Society for his work. He single-handedly restored his home on Ridge Road, a century- old farmhouse, raising his family there. Passionate about the outdoors and everything nature-related, he was also a kind, warm and engaging man who took the time to get to know every person with whom he crossed paths.  In his spare time Rob enjoyed creating works of art using found objects, photography, and following the Yankees. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, a doting father, a loyal friend, and a happy and fun-loving spirit who touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Rob’s memory will be treasured by his wife, Michele, their daughters Grace and Chloe, stepson David Kimel, and long- time family companions Dinh and Bobby. He leaves his sisters Ana Miller (Jimmy) and Mary Dingus of Hamden, sisters-in-law Felicity Celentano (Mike) and Lori Klimczak, brother-in-law Vincent Buonocore, nieces Jamie Dingus and Lauren Celentano, and nephews Kevin Dingus, James Miller, and Michael Celentano. He was pre-deceased by his parents Ann and Edward Klimczak, and by his older brother Ed by just three months.  Rob leaves a legacy of a loving family and long-time friends who will cherish his memory forever.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday afternoon, March 3rd at 1:00 in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue and friends are invited to call from 11:00 am until time of service
