Robert Joseph Vercellone, Sr. (Bob), 77, of North Haven passed away January 21, 2021 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on April 17, 1943, a son to the late Peter and Mary Gabinelli Vercellone. He is survived by the love of his life for 53 amazing years, Adelina Camputaro Vercellone, along with his daughter Mary (Michael) Mecca of Wallingford, son Robert (Tara) Vercellone, Jr of Milford, brother James (Carole) Vercellone of North Haven, and is predeceased by his brother Peter Vercellone. “The best grandpa in the entire world” called by the name of Pa or Ta by his 5 grandchildren, Francesca, Gianna, and Isabella Mecca, and Ava and Robert Joseph (RJ) Vercellone, III. He was the best role model to all of them and also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. An intellect and accomplished engineer, he graduated from The University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and further went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He dedicated 45 years to Sikorsky Aircraft where he achieved many accomplishments including the development of a patent. He put his heart into his family, whom he loved and adored. The most selfless, humble, and kind man, he inspired all who were around him to be better versions of themselves each day. Never wanting anything in return and always giving everything, he made everyone feel loved. He brought so much happiness to anyone who was lucky enough to be in his presence. A handyman to say the least, he enjoyed building anything and everything as he had a special talent when it came to design. He also loved being by the ocean and watching the waves crash, as it matched his calming presence. Most of all, he loved spending every amount of free time he had with his wife, Adelina, as their love is something people write books about. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, to which Bob was a light in their lives and to everyone else he met.
