Robert Joseph Power, 93, of North Haven, former longtime resident of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Mary Wade Home, New Haven.  He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 21, 1930, and was the son of the late David and Alyce (Boyle) Power.  Robert worked as an actuary in banking in Brooklyn for five years before enlisting at age 21. Robert served his country faithfully in the US Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, Robert obtained his bachelor’s degree at The City College in New York and then a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.  He worked for SNET in New Haven for almost 40 years in statistics as a marketing researcher, and after his retirement he worked as an independent statistical consultant.  Robert enjoyed telling jokes and had a great sense of humor.  He was a true gentleman and was always there for his friends and family whenever and wherever he was needed to lend a helping hand.  Robert’s greatest joy was spending time and being a part of his family’s lives, he loved them all unconditionally.  Father of Judy Power, Ruthanne DeLucia (David), Steven Power (Astrida), Michael Power, Douglas Power (Michele), Lynn Power (Chris) and the late Jennifer Power.  Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Predeceased by his brother David F. Power, sister Jean Ward, sister-in-law Anne Power, and daughter-in-law Juana Asbun-Power.  A special, heartfelt thank you to the staff at Mary Wade Home and Connecticut Hospice, Branford for being more like friends, family, and true heroes to Bob over the years.   

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473 on Thursday morning, April 4th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service with full military honors immediately following in Beaver Brook Cemetery, Clinton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Wade Home, 118 Clinton Avenue, New Haven, CT 06513, or CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
