Robert M. Lipka, Sr., 90, of East Haven passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022 at his home.  He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Mary E. Smith Lipka (she was his reason for living).  Robert was born in New Haven on June 9th, 1932 and was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Paleski Lipka. He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Korean war and had worked as an Electronic Technician for Echlin Manufacturing in Branford for many years until his retirement.  After retirement, Robert traveled to Florida with his wife where they had a winter home in Fruitland Park.  Robert loved traveling and camping throughout the country with his children and wife and was a seasonal camper at Hidden Acres Campgrounds for many years.  He loved to reminisce about the old days and taking the trolley.  A very handyman, Robert could fix almost anything electronic and liked to tinker with things. Father of Cathy Pedini (Nino), Mark Lipka (Katherine) and Robert Lipka, Jr., the late Robin and Ronald Lipka.  Also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Frances Navarretta, Joseph Lipka, Katherine Overly and Arthur Lipka.

The visiting hours will be Friday, July 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, July 16th at 12 noon.  Interment with full military honors will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.
