Robert N. Bessinger, Sr., 85, of Largo, Florida formerly of Clearwater, Florida and Hamden, Connecticut passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.  He has now been reunited with his one and only, the love of his life, his wife Elaine D’Errico Bessinger of 61 years and his son Bobby.  Robert was born in New Haven on March 14th, 1937 and was the son of the late August and Isabelle Gwinnell Bessinger. He had worked as a service technician for Montano Brothers Amusements, later was the co-owner/operator with his wife of Doggie Daddies Restaurant in Clearwater, Florida and was the owner of Redenti’s Package Store, New Haven which he ran with his son. Known as “Bob-Could-Do-It”, he was an inventor and could fix anything. Father of Lori Bessinger and the late Robert “Bobby” N. Bessinger, Jr. Grandfather of his “Dolly” Christina Bessinger (Alex), Robert Bessinger III (Cari) and his “Little One” Elaina Johnson (Zack). Great-Grandfather of Cameron, Chase, Cade, Griffin, Archer and Jacob.  Brother of Barbara Buehler, August Bessinger (Connie), Paul Bessinger (Barbara) and the late Carol Takats.  A special thank you to my cousin Linda Pritchard, without her help I would not have been able to provide the necessary care my father deserved. 

The visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 13th from 9:00AM to 12:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden
