Robert T. Morico, 83, of Hamden, formerly of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Marilyn Caselli Morico. Robert was born in New Haven on May 7, 1935 and was the son of the late Lawrence Morico and Concetta “Jennie” Velardi Morico Tamborini. He had worked for Detroit Steel for many years retiring as a Shipping Supervisor in 1979, later working for Hamden Steel and then for Hexacomb. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carmel Council, Hamden, was a member of Miller Senior Center where he enjoyed playing pinochle. He also enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox and UCONN Girls basketball fan. Father of Suzanne Nero (Michael), Joanne Maselli (Michael) and Richard Morico (Christine). Grandfather of Michael Nero (Jodi), Steven Nero (Amanda), Christina Nero (Joseph Tramuta), Anthony Nero (Brooke), Thomas Maselli, Kimberly & Jack Morico. Great-Grandfather of Luciana, Nicholas, Christopher and Santino Nero. Brother of John “Skip” Morico (Lucille), Lorraine McNabb (Robert), and Joyce Ruocco. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home on Friday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.

I felt so bad when i was told of Bob’s passing. We have know each other over 70 years growing up in a word of true friendship.
Enjoying each other at our Birthday club Monthly Lunch. Always talking about old times. as our lives moved forward.
I feel bad i will not get to attend his service as i am out of the State.
