Roch (Rocky) St-Michel, a longtime resident of North Haven, was born in Saint-Germain-de-Grantham Quebec Canada on June 28th 1936, and passed away on Feb 6th at the age of 87.

He followed in the footsteps of his older brothers Jean-Claude and Real and moved to the United States and proudly joined the US Army to earn his citizenship and improve his English.   The love of his life, Theresa, soon followed him from Canada and together they Married and started a family, despite not knowing many people here. 

After the Army, he joined the Pipe Fitters Union, Local 777 and worked his way from apprentice to welder.  He was very proud of the work that he did and buildings that he was a part of constructing.

Roch was a long-time active member of the Knights of Columbus, earning a fourth degree.   He served as a Grand Knight, Rental Agent and Travel Co-Ordinator for many Canadian Bus trips to the Knights of Columbus Head Quarters.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to Canada and Cancun.

He was one of 11 children of Amedee & Brigitte (Rivard) St-Michel and is survived by his siblings Vianney (CSE) St-Michel and Madelein St-Michel (RHFJ), his children Daniel & Doreen (St-Michel) LeGrand, Mario St-Michel, Norman & Stephanie (Girardi) St-Michel, Brigitte St-Michel, his grandchildren Michael and Samantha LeGrand, and Zoe and Taylor St-Michel.

A wake will be held on Monday Feb 12th at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 5-7 pm and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Elizabeth of the Trinity at St Barnabas in North Haven at noon on Feb 13th.  Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery
