Ronald P. Sotere, 83, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to RoseAnn D’Errico Sotere. Ronald was born in New Haven on February 12, 1937 and was the son of the late Charles and Helen Fazio Sotere. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy. Ron graduated from Boardman Trade School as a Licensed Electrician and was the owner/operator of Dairy Queen in Wallingford and Fair Haven for 52 years. He was a former member of the North Haven Rotary Club, enjoyed playing poker with his buddies, and was a New York Giants and Yankees fan. Father of Ron Sotere, Jr., Dawn Rosarbo, Christopher Sotere(Eva) and Robert Sotere. Grandfather of Gia and Joseph Rosarbo, Alexa, Gianna, Robert, Jr. and Dominic Sotere. Brother of Irene Mamone.
The visiting hours will be Monday morning, Dec. 14th from 9:00 to 10:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave at 10:30 to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:00. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.

Ron was the best boss and mentor I’ve ever had! He was such a loving, gentle man who impacted many. I know he will be sorely missed, especially by his DQ girls. Lots of love to the whole Sotere family <3
My sincerist sympathy’s to you Rose and your family on the passing of Ron. I remembetr going to the Fair Haven location with my dad as a youngster along with my brothers and sisters. Ron was working their in his younger days. Then as a parent and grandparent, I was taking my children and grandchildren to the Wallingford location and talking to Ron. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Ron.
My prayers are with you all during this difficult time! Ron was a wonderful man and a wonderful boss to our daughter Bianca. She was employed at dairy queen for a lot of years and has such wonderful memories . To my cousins and my lovely Auntie Roseann…You are all in my thoughts and my heart is broken for you all! Uncle Ron was a very special person every Father’s Day that we had at your house was the best time ever it was a special time to be with all of our family you took over where Grandma and Grandpa left off you were always a great example of a loving family and a loving couple.
