Rose Jean Rossetti Basilicato, 83, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 2, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen J. Basilicato. Rose Jean was born in New Haven on December 25, 1932; daughter of the late Carlo and Concetta Coppola Rossetti and had worked as a bookkeeper for various companies. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, sewing, baking and was always concerned about the welfare and well-being of others having shown many acts of kindness. Mother of Linda (Nick) Liuzzi and Stephen (Jody) Basilicato, Jr. Grandmother of Monica (Eric) Drury, Domenic Liuzzi, Jordan and Gillian Basilicato. Great Grandmother of Lyla and Nicolas Drury. The family would like to thank the warm and loving staff at the Brookdale Community and Compassus for their care and support through a very difficult time.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. My husband Dan and I extend our sympathies on your loss. Jean and I are first cousins and grew up together in Fair Haven. We also graduated from high school together.
