Rose M. Civitello Coppola, 84, formerly of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Apple Rehab Laurel Woods, East Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis R. Coppola. Rose was born in New Haven on April 13, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth D’Amato Civitello. Mother of Kathleen Apuzzo (James), Marie Gazzillo (Clem) and Frank Coppola (Jackie). Grandmother of Anthony Apuzzo (Jen), David Apuzzo (Becky) Jeanette Apuzzo, Christine Gazzillo, Michele Riccio (James), Margaret Weyel and Heather Machool. Great-Grandmother of Justine, Giavanna, Luca, James A., James, Emiliano, Jonathan, Alexis and two great granddaughters on the way. Sister of Paula Purificato (Mike), Gloria Scalesse, Patricia Milardo, Mickey Donato, Josephine Bradley, John Civitello and the late Mary Albe, Sue Bello, Ann Jenkins, Doris Roman, Domenic, Anthony & Joseph Civitello. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Apple Rehab Laurel Woods for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Monday at 12 Noon. Family and friends may call from 10:00 until time of service. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or a charity of one’s choice.
