Rose Santacroce Geraci, 87, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27th, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. This wonderful woman has gone home to the Lord with her loved ones. Rose was born in New Haven on March 7, 1935; daughter of the late John and Filomena Santacroce. She was predeceased by her brother Anthony J. Santacroce and her sister Vincenza Santacroce. Loving mother of Larry Geraci of Northford and Lori-Anne (Rick) Murgo of North Haven. Proud Grandmother to the love of her life, Carl Anthony Murgo. Rose is survived by her companion Joe Levine of Cheshire. Steady in her faith, she was one of the first parishioners of St. Frances Cabrini Church. She had served on the Executive Board of the Women’s Club, Parish Council, Altar Society, Holiday Bazaar, and numerous other committees. She volunteered her time whenever and wherever it was needed. She was a kind, generous, thoughtful woman always doing for and putting others before herself. As an avid baker and entertainer, she will always be remembered for her meticulous Christmas cookies, a get together to enjoy Easter pies after Holy Saturday Vigil, and her 4th of July picnics at the cabin in Eastford. Rose followed in her brother’s footsteps and was a big supporter of the Ben May Department for Cancer Research at the University of Chicago with hope for finding a cure. The family would like to thank her caregivers Katie, Hannah, Jamila, Mary, and Phyllis, who cared for her with such love and compassion.
The visiting hours will be Sunday, March 5th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning March 6th at 9:30 to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven, March 6th for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Larry and family,
So very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Wishing you our sympathies and prayers. Although we only knew her briefly, she was a very kind, friendly and outgoing person. She made the best desserts.
We’re sure she is in a better place and at peace.
Larry, Lori, & Carl,
My sincere condolences go out to you for the loss of your beloved, mother & grandmother. I’m heartbroken over the passing of a dear friend and neighbor for over fifty years. Your Mom would give me a tray of her delicious cookies every Christmas and hands down they were the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. She will be missed but never forgotten. May the Lord receive her in his arms and may she rest in the eternal peace of our Lord.
With my deepest condolences,
David
Lori, Larry and Carl.
Rosie was one of my favorite friends and whenever I asked her for something she was always there. I know how much you are hurting because she was a great mother and grandmother. I have been missing her for the last few years because I was away and sometimes not in the best of health. Thank you Lori for letting me know how she was doing and you Larry for giving Karen the latest news about her. May she rest in peace and my sympathy to all.
