Santa “Sandy” Coppola Spontino, 92, of Wallingford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 in North Haven. She was 22 days short of her 93rd birthday. She was born in New Haven on April 3, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Almerinda Rovelli Coppola. Predeceased by her sisters and brothers in law Laura and Joseph Laudicina, Sr., Rose and Albert Gambardella, Sr, and Mary Dagliere. Aunt of Dennis (Moe) Dagliere, Ronald Laudicina, Albert Gambardella (Daria) and the late Joseph Laudicina, Jr. Great aunt of Dean Dagliere (Caleen), David (Muchie) Dagliere (Stephanie), Craig Gambardella (Alexis), Carissa (Jared) Somody. Great-Great Aunt of Gracie Ella and Ellie Reese Dagliere, Luca and Livianna Somody and Jordyn Gambardella. Aunt Sandy retired as a supervisor from SNET and AT&T Company after 39 ½ years. Her family was her whole life. Always made them her priority. She was also an animal lover and contributed to many causes. The family would like Hartford Healthcare and Connecticut Hospice especially visiting nurse, Gabby for providing excellent care during these trying times. Also a special thanks to her niece Moe who devoted the past 7 months to care for Aunt Sandy above and beyond the call.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford on Friday morning, March 15th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of her dog “Hussan” to the Animal Haven, Inc., 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.
