Selina J. Sallak, 89, of Wallingford, formerly of North Haven, passed away on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford.  She was the wife of the late Wiliam J. Sallak. Born in New York City, November 21, 1928, daughter of the late Arthur and Frances Fielder.  Selina graduated from Scudder Business School in New York City in 1948 with a secretarial diploma and worked on the 72nd floor of the Empire State Building, and then at Cornell University where her husband had earned his B.S. degree.  Selina enjoyed eight years as a Girl Scout Troop leader in the 1960’s and was a past member of the Temple Sweethearts Square Dance club for ten years. She was also a long time member of Faith United Methodist Church where she devoted much of her time over the years as a Youth Leader, Church Secretary, Church Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, Choir member, Women’s Society, and Chairperson of Global Ministries.  She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Sallak.  She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Midolo (Carmen) of North Haven, and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Sallak of Wallingford.  Granddaughters, Lisa D’Orlando (David) of Wallingford, and Elaine Horn (Michael) of Northford.  Her four precious great-grandchildren, Ella, Joey, Aubrey and Alex, always made her smile.  Selina’s family would like to extend their warm appreciation to the staff at the Masonicare Health Center for their outstanding, heartfelt care given to Selina while she was a resident there.  The hospice staff was also very supportive to Selina and her family.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Faith United Methodist Church, North Haven on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00.  Inurnment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church, 81 Clintonville Rd., North Haven, CT  06473.
