Shirley Barseth LaRock, 94, of East Haven, formerly of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Apple Rehab Laurel Woods, East Haven with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the Harold LaRock. Shirley was born in New Haven on March 22, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Bernhardt and Annie Hansen Barseth. She had worked for the former Bell Telephone Company, then worked in the cafeteria for the North Branford School System and later was a Teller for the former Second National Bank for many years until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed knitting, dancing, singing, doing crossword puzzles, playing dominos and cards. She was a lifetime member of the Sons and Daughters of Norway. Mother of Paul LaRock (Ligaya). Grandmother of Phillip LaRock, Paul LaRock (Terri), Jennette Krawec (Patrick Mickens, Sr.), Stephenjohn Yu (Angeline), Michael Yu (Paul Rimmer), Christopher Yu (Christylyn) and Monnique LaRock. Great-Grandmother of Kiana LaRock, Jessica Sichau, Carissa LaRock, Joseph Krawec (Nana), Justin Krawec, Archie and Annika Yu. Aunt of Allen Barseth (Judy), Darik Barseth and John Nilsson. Also survived by many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Jenny Noblisse, a brother Earhling Barseth and sisters Borgne Nilsson and Norma DuPaul.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue with a funeral service to be conducted at 7:30 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family
We have met her for a very short time. What a very nice lady.
