Shirley L. Russo Colella, 70, of New Haven passed away on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late David J. Colella III. Shirley was born in New Haven on November 14, 1951, daughter of the late Harold and Shirley Ricketson Russo, Sr. She had worked for CHCP and later as a Clinical Coordinator for Yale Transplant. Shirley was an avid New York Yankees fan. Mother of David “Chuck” Colella IV and his wife Amy, Denise O’Reardon and her husband Keith. Grandmother of Jake and Lucas O’Reardon, Emma and Abby Colella. Sister of Harold Russo, Jr. and his wife Mary, Sandra Maloney and her husband Richard, Allen Russo and his wife Ann. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Friday, September 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday morning, September 10th at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 10:00. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. I’ll never forget the days when we watched General Hospital then did the crossword in the NH Register. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor.
