Sophia “Sonia” Kocur Thomas, 82, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the Masonicare Health Care Center, Wallingford, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late Raymond J. Thomas. Sophia, daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Michalko Kocur, was born in Topilnytsia, Ukraine on August 19, 1935, and immigrated to the United States in 1949 after fleeing communist Russia. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church. Mother of Barbara J. Thomas and her husband William M. Clem, Raymond M. Thomas and his wife Beth, Patricia Sedaille and her husband Brian. Grandmother of Kathryn, Rebecca and Ross Clem, Grace and Grant Thomas, Samantha and Jennifer Stewart. Sister of Theodore Kocur and Mary Kiciuk. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be private.
