Sophie Helen Bednarczyk Losaw peacefully passed away on October 28, 2016. She was born on Dec 22, 1915, in Manchester, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late Antoni and Josefa (Jadczyk) Bednarczyk. The family moved to Massachusetts and finally settled in the New Haven, Connecticut area. She left school after the 8th grade to help support the family and she met and consequently married William L. Losaw in April 1934. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, loved traveling, square and line dancing, a home maker, volunteer for community services, seamstress making costumes for dance reviews, and was employed by The A.C. Gilbert Co and the Sargents Manufacturing Co until her retirement. She was the last surviving of six children. She is predeceased by her husband, William L, her daughter-in-law Phyllis (Knox) Losaw and one great-grandson, Alexander Teramani. She is survived by her son William Anthony, three Grandchildren JoLynn L. (James) Teramani, LeeAnn L. Witt and partner Steve Romo, Stacey J. L. (Steve) Sullivan. Eight surviving great-grandchildren: Noelle and Jamie Teramani, Connor, Kasey, Carling and Cameron Witt, Colton and Corryn Sullivan. One great-great-granddaughter Maisie Martinez, her goddaughter Jeanette Murdock and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 until time of service. Interment will follow in Montowese Cemetery.
