Susan Catherine Duarte, 66, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to Antonio Duarte. She was born in New Haven on December 8, 1955 and was the daughter of the late Mary “Dolly” D’Errico Altieri. Susan had worked as a secretary at St. Lawrence School in West Haven for 20 plus years until her retirement, when she went on to work with her family. She was famous for her anginetti cookies and was loved by all who knew her. Susan was dedicated to her friends, family and most importantly her husband. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. Beloved mother of Christopher (Alicia) Duarte and Victoria (Michael) Rossi. Loving Nonnie of Nicholas and Matthew Rossi and Dominic Duarte.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Wednesday, Dec. 22nd at 10 AM for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue have been entrusted with the arrangements.
