Susan Murphy Pfaff, 69, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26th, 2021 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain with her family by her side. Susan was born in New Haven on July 29, 1951 and was the daughter of the late William and Margaret O’Neill Murphy. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1969. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Arthur Pfaff, her high school sweetheart. Art knew from the moment he met her, he would marry Susie and she would become his forever love on Valentine’s day. Susan spent many years as a daycare provider and truly adored and loved the many children under her care. Susie and her family enjoyed many vacations where love and laughter were cherished. She enjoyed shopping (sometimes a bit too much). When she could no longer drive, she became QVC’s best customer. Some of her best shopping trips were her Black Friday affairs with her family! Susie also enjoyed many hours talking on the phone with her mother, sisters, and her many longtime friends. She dedicated her entire life to spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren who she loved unconditionally.
Left to cherish her memory forever are her children Jennifer Franzoni (Joseph), Jodie Watson (Jason), Jared Pfaff (Apryl) and Jaime Pfaff. Beloved Nina of her grandchildren McKenzie (fiancé Tyler), Reagan, Noah, Aryanna, Bailie, Olivia, Charleigh and to her great-grandchildren Hayden and Taytum. Sister of Linda Murphy, Ann Spillane, and the late Carol DiBuccio. Also survived by her brother-in-law Victor DiBuccio, many nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 30th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Wednesday morning at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
I will love to you always Baby Girl! You were everything to me! I know I said I would love you until death do us part but I lied! I will love forever! Save me a spot!
Dear Art and Family-
Our hearts go out to all of you at the passing of Sue. She was such a loving, caring person to whom I entrusted the care of my two young daughters when we moved to Wallingford. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. May God grant her peace and you the strength to get through this time of grief. With deepest sympathy-
Bobbie, Kristina and Kathryn
I love you so much mommy!
My beautiful sister Sue, I’m gonna miss you so much. I’m gonna miss our long talks on the phone, trying to solve worldly problems… (Ok gossiping) but we were good at it! I love you so much, give Daddy, Mommy and Carol a big kiss for me. Until we meet again you will always be in my heart.
It’s hard to believe you’re gone. Nothing will ever be the same again. I will love and miss you forever. Tell Daddy, Mommy, Carol, Nanny and Pop-Pop I miss them too very much. Love you Sue. XOXOXO
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. I had the privilege to meet her once on Olivia’s first day of school . You could see the love between her and her husband and the love she felt for her family. She will be missed by many and will be watching over all of you.
Our sincere condolences and deepest sympathies during your time of loss and mourning. I had such a great time at your wedding! Hard to believe it was more than a half century ago.
May peace be with you and your family,

Your mom was a dear, true friend of Rosie’s during the many years when they both lived on Rhey Avenue and for many years afterwards. She exemplified all a friend should be. She will be greatly missed. We are so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers, strength and love.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Susan. Not knowing her but
I heard so many lovely things about her. May she rest in peace.
I’m overwhelmed with emotions as we just learned of the loss of Susie. She was such a beloved woman and was so special to our family. Jade absolutely adored her and is heartbroken to hear this news. Jade loved her special time with her. Especially their shopping adventures. She was so good to our family and treated Jade like her own. She absolutely will be forever in our hearts. Jade still has the books she bought her and wrote in for her when she was 3. May God keep your family in peace. Love to you all
