Theodora Bogaert Esposito, 80, of North Haven, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Lawrence S. Esposito. Theodora was born in Rotterdam, Holland on December 31, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Louise Hochwald Bogaert, and the late Harriet Bogaert. She attended many accredited schools and after her children matured, she returned to the banking industry where Thea became vice president of Webster Bank and was a presidents club repeat winner for the following years:1997, 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2006. Theodora was Past President of the East Haven Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed traveling but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially her granddaughter who she loved unconditionally. Loving mother of Joanna Esposito, Ann-Marie Cain (Stephen) and Cynthia Esposito (Jeffrey M. Hodak). Devoted grandmother of Indyana Roberts. Sister of William (Genie) Bogaert and Rick Bogaert, Susana (Hernan) Bogaert Morales, and the late Hiddie (Barbara) and John Bogaert.
The visiting hours will be Friday, April 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. On Saturday morning, April 15th, family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in the All Saints Mausoleum. Uncle Larry and family, Aunt Thea and I were in the banking field together. I was proud to call her my Aunt and be her competitor. She worked at Webster, I at New Haven Savings Bank. She was a leader in her field and a wonderful person. She will be missed. RiP Aunt Thea….

Dear Larry, my deepest condolences to you and your daughters and granddaughter. I worked for Thea at First Federal Bank many years ago in East Haven. We had a lot of laughs. She was a wonderful lady. I will remember her dearly.
