Theresa C. Muro, 97, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas J. Muro. Theresa was born in New Haven on September 7, 1919, daughter of the late Michael and Lucia Acquarulo Mancieri. In her early years Theresa worked as a seamstress; later she and her husband were the owners and operators of the Aircraft Package Store for many years and after that Brookside Liquors in New Haven. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Mother of Palma (James) Grancher and Lucille (Joseph) Muro-Marturano. Grandmother of James (Lucie) Grancher, Jr. Great Grandmother of Lukas and Charlie Grancher. Sister of Rose Balletto, Madeline Russo, Mary Manicone and the late Gabriella Santagata, Raffaella Esposito, Matilda DeMatteo, Margaret Tondalo and Lucy Manicone.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:00 to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Therese Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
