Valentina V. Woliver, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late George H. Woliver, Jr. Valentina was born in New Haven on September 29, 1925; daughter of the late Alexander K. and Helen L. Neckwiadovich Vansak; had worked as a nurses aid at Yale-New Haven Hospital, later as a cashier at the former Barkers Department Store, Walllingford and later as a cashier for Stop & Shop until her retirement. She was a member of the former St. Mary’s Ladies Society and was an active member of the Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Church Parish Council. Mother of Helen Olsen, Sharon Beaudoin, Alexia Tassmer, George H. Woliver III and the late Georgina Grestini. Sister of Alexandra Gratsias and Vladimir Vansak. Also survived by nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Prededceased by a grandson George Jerry Novak III.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 9:15. A Service will follow in Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in Northford Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Panakhida service will be conducted at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Valentina’s name may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 54 Park Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450.
