ahhhh Daddy – you were King – no words – a part of our hearts have been cut out…you were the world to us all – we love you and you learned the Lord’s last lesson well – patience and in you learning, you taught us the same.. you were teaching us until your last breath. The miracle was that we actually saw you meet the Lord in real time and while our hearts are broken and heavy, we are grateful that you are now in heaven – reunited with Mommy and your family and friends. Your legacy was witnessed in the last 4 weeks with your grandchildren and great grandchildren carrying you through this journey – we love you Daddy – aka Poppie, Poppie70, Popmeister….we love you so much – thank you for that last dance minutes before you saw the Lord – Jan and I will never forget that…
Dear Dad,
The memories from Port Sea Street, New Haven, CT to Newburg , New York onto Hartford and then Cromwell the family trips to Story Town to Disney World. To my first job of being a newspaper boy where on some of those cold mornings you drove me around to deliver the Hartford Courant especially making sure the Governor’s Mansion and the Governor had their newspaper on time. To the family pick nicks where we reacquainted with our Grand Parents Aunts, Uncles, cousins and family friends. You were there teaching us the value of family.
From the family graduations to the family weddings and the deaths and funerals, you taught us all the meaning of family life. You were always there for us. I love the UNO games where you must have had a divine connection in wining the many games you played with us. I love the belly laughs you had when beating our loved brother in-law Gary. Now you are with Mom in heaven seeing all of your brothers and beloved sister, your mom and dad.
Daddy, Emily and I will miss you dearly however knowing you are now in heaven with Mom and family. Rest peacefully Dad we will see you when it is our time again for our family to have a reunion in Heaven.
Love your son and daughter in-law Emily.
Francis Xavier Cassella
