Victoria I. Lenzo Spina, 92, of North Haven, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale-New Haven Hospital with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 69 years to the late Philip V. Spina who passed away this past January 9th.  Victoria was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 26, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Favazza Lenzo.  She had worked for the former Sears & Roebuck’s of Hamden for 25 years and later for the former BonTons of Hamden for 10 years until her retirement at age 87.  Victoria was a former member of the Legion of Mary, enjoyed crocheting, cooking, entertaining (where she was always the life of the party), bingo, taking frequent trips to the casino and trips to visit her sister in Florida along with her daughter.  Victoria was always on the go which earned her the nickname “Gypsy” and was dedicated to her family whom she loved unconditionally.  Mother of Angela (Richard) Starno and John (Linda) Spina.  Grandmother of Philip (Nicole) Starno, Justin (Karissa) Spina, Christopher Spina and the late Michael John Starno.  Great Grandmother of Michael John Starno and Peyton, Luciana Spina and Giancarlo Spina.  Sister of Mary Mangravite, Rose DeRupo, Tina Bonora and the late Anthony, Alfred, Lina Lenzo.

Her funeral procession will leave North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Saturday morning, at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 am.   A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
