Vincent Giardina Jr., 85, formally of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb 2nd 2022.  He is survived by the love of his life of over 25 years,  Darlene Rodgers and her son Rob.  He was Father to a daughter, Marianne McGee, and 2 sons, Vincent Giardina III and Stephen Giardina (Anna). Vinnie had 5 Grandchildren, Alexis and Madison Giardina, Blake McGee, and Nina and Neve Giardina.  He also leaves his sister Dina Cart and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his Father, Vincenzo Giardina, his mother Marianna Alu and his siblings, David Giardina, Rita D’Alessio and Joseph Giardina.

 Vincent started his career in the US Army followed by getting his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business at Quinnipiac College (Now Quinnipiac University)

He then became a realtor and worked many years at the Beazley Company and also had his own Real Estate company Giardina Associates. He then became an appraiser and did that until he retired.

 He had an amazing singing career starting in the late 1950’s with the Academics, and then his group Northern Lights and later returned to his old band mates of the Academics and they performed often.

He loved his house on the water in West Haven.  Vinnie was known for the epic parties there where he entertained his many friends and family. The 4th of July celebration was the highlight of his year.  He spoke about all the different wonderful views he would see daily including all kinds of ships & boats coming in and out of the harbor, to the different varieties of wildlife and the ever-changing weather. He spoke of it daily to his friends and family. His home was his happy place for many years, making puzzles, watching UCONN Women basketball and tending to his many plants.  He also was an avid chef and loved to create new dishes.

The visiting hours will be Wednesday Morning, Feb. 9th from 9:30 to 11:30 at The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave, North Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 12 Noon.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
