Ward “Paco” “Teddy” Howe, 81, of Wallingford, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Born on October 27, 1935, he worked for over 50 years as a union painter, and was a true artist with a paintbrush. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and die-hard NASCAR and New York Giants fan. His infectious smile, carefree spirit, and enthusiasm for family gatherings, Christmas Eve, and fireworks will be missed by many. Ward is survived by his children and their spouses, Kim and Dan Wiedenmann of Wallingford, Alan and Anne Howe of Newington, Linda and Dan Ibarra of Jefferson, MD, and Patty and Vinny Lynch of Hamden; his grandchildren Ryan, Brendan, Nicole, Lauren, Kevin, and Collette, for each of whom his love and pride was boundless. He is also survived by his dear friend Dorothy Gould, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ward’s name to Gaylord Specialty Healthcare at gaylorddevelopment@gaylord.org.

I miss my main man pacooooo
Heartfelt sympathies to you Linda Kim Alan Patty and your families. He left so many wonderful memories.
Steve and I are so very sorry for your loss. Ward was a great father, man and friend. His smile would light up a room. He was very good to Steve and I. Treated Steve like a son. Opened his home to him when he was a confessed teenager and that was the birth of birdseed and birdbrain. He came to our home many times and painted everything he could. He was never afraid of hard work. We wish we could be there with you, but Steve is to weak to travel. We are with you in spirit.
Kathy and I and our whole family feel we lost a great friend. From breakfasts at our kitchen table in Cheshire to watching him water skiing at the age of 76 off our boat in Maine, he made our lives fun and meaningful. Just seeing his peretual smile and love of life made everyone understand the real purpose of life and what is really important in it. Ward taught us that it is not the contents of a house but the people in it that is of most value. We will miss him and keep his lessons with us for the rest of our lives!
