William “Bill” Leslie Maroney Jr., 75, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Ann Longobardi Maroney. Bill was born in New Haven on September 1, 1942 and was the son of William L. Maroney Sr. and the late Antoinette Golia Maroney. He had worked as a personal director/manager for the O.F. Mossberg Co. for 17 years, a manager for the West Haven and Windsor Board of Education for the Blind and later as a manager for the New Haven Job Corp. Bill had served in the National Guard and was a member of the Masonic Corinthian Lodge #103 of North Haven. Father of Eric and Jonathan Maroney. Grandfather of Jonathan Maroney II. Brother of Linda (Jack) Martin and John Maroney. Bill was known by family and friends to be an extremely selfless man who focused always on the needs of his family. He was a gentle and kind person who will truly be missed.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday morning at 10:00. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.

Celeste sent me your Brother’s obit. We are in Florida for the winter so will not be able to attend his services but just wanted to let me know how sorry We were to hear of his passing. Bill was always a warm, caring person and we will always remember him fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
