William John (Bill) Stephens, 69, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Meriden on May 20, 1954, the son of the late Joseph and Anna Kennedy Stephens. Bill worked as a truck driver for Estes Express Lines for many years. In healthier days, Bill enjoyed riding his motorcycle, kayaking, working in his yard, and traveling. Survived by his sister, Mary Ann Moran (Harvey), brothers Edward and James and several nieces and nephews. Bill was also survived by his longtime friend and companion Dario Lizardo. Bill was a quiet spoken, gentle person and per his request and wishes private funeral arrangements were held with The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
